Providing high quality accommodation
in rural Pembrokeshire for over twenty five years

Care Farm

Over the last year we have been working hard to make the farm more accessible, and inclusive.

2011 was a year of planning, while 2012 was a year of action with new projects and enterprises starting on an almost monthly basis!

Clynfyw Care Farm is work in progress. We see a long term development ahead of us and suggestions from visitors and participants are more welcomed.

The Care Farm is for people who are staying in the cottages and also for local people coming in on a daily basis.

We are not and are not planning to be a 'drop in for a day tourist attraction' type of place. We know that people enjoy our cottages and the farm because of the peace and quiet. While we are trying to develop the farm, we are committed to keeping the tranquility and peace of the farm.

Currently we have twenty ex-battery rescue chickens running in the new orchard, two ponies housed with us by the natioanl equine charity, HAPPA. We grow fruit and vegetables in two polytunnels and five raised beds. We have a pottery and a sculpture trail woodland walk for people to enjoy and help to develop.

We are planning to develop a woodland numeracy and literacy trail in 2013 and are applyig for grants to enable us to add new art works to the trail.

We are developing a community apple juicing initiative which would have started in 2012 were it not for a shambles within Pembrokeshire County Council's planning department which wasted a year. If you want to see a grown man cry, please ask us about this saga.

Our Wheelie Good Idea, independent living aid refurbishment project is another project of which we are really delighted! in this project we source and repair old and unused wheelchairs and pieces of mobility equipment which we then export to the developing world where the need is huge and a wheelchair can truly be a life chnaign piece of equipment.

We are an accredited training centre with Agored Cymru, running courses in a huge range of areas from horticulture and creative arts to setting up your own business, wheelchair refurbishment and self-empowerment. We have also run British Sign Language courses for seven years with a very high pass rate!

We would like to thank the following organisations for their support in helping establish the projects so far:

The Country Landowners Association, Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS), Milford Haven Port Authority, Collaborative Communities

All feedback and suggestions are much appreciated.

If you would like to join the mailing list to hear about how this project develops, please let us know:

Many thanks!
